Dr. Nickel’s clinical expertise and research covers inflammatory, infectious, pain and other benign diseases of the urinary tract. He has over 600 publications, is on the editorial board of 6 Urology journals, immediate past-editor of the AUA Update Series, editor of Microbiome/Urologic Infections Section for Grand Rounds in Urology, invited to present in over 50 countries, and has been continuously funded by US NIH and Canadian CRC (CIHR) for over two decades. He was President of the Canadian Urological Association in 2017. He was awarded a CIHR Tier I Canada Research Chair (concurrent), AUA Distinguished Contribution Award, AUA Latimer Medal, SIU Academy Award, and was the first recipient of the SIU Elhilali Award for contributions to International Urology Research. He was named an Honorary Member of the AUA in 2021 for contributions in urologic research and leadership..

Dr. Thomas Chi, MD, is Professor and Vice Chair for Clinical Programs with the UCSF Department of Urology. He graduated as a President's Scholar from Stanford University with a BA in Human Biology and Masters degrees in both Sociology and Music. Dr. Chi earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine then completed urology residency at UCSF followed by a fellowship in Endourology and Laparoscopy.
Dr. Chi has been awarded grant funding from the National Institutes of Health and the American Urological Association Urology Care Foundation to research the fundamental mechanisms underlying the formation of urinary stones. He is the 2020 recipient of the AUA Gold Cystoscope Award, which is presented annually to a urologist distinguished by outstanding contributions to the profession within ten years of completing residency training.
His clinical expertise focuses on the care of patients with urinary stone disease, benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and those in need of minimally invasive surgery. He specializes in performing endoscopic, laparoscopic, and percutaneous stone surgeries. He is Associate Director of Research for the NHS Hospitals in Bristol. He is academic lead of the final year at Bristol Medical School. Arnulf Stenzl is Director of the Department of Urology, University of Tuebingen Medical School. Professor Stenzl is author or co-author on more than 700 publications and scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, is member of innumerous public and privately initiated steering committees and advisory boards on all kind of urologic topics. He holds 2 international patents. He has been Chairman of the Scientific Congress Office of the European Association of Urology since 2012 and is now Adjunct Secretary Science in EAU. Furthermore, he is a Board member of the European Cancer Organization and was president of the German Association of Urology 2020/2021. He is member of various national and international urological associations. He is on the Editorial Board of several Journals.
His major research interests are bladder and prostate cancer and reconstructive urology. He has been awarded the Jackson Hole Award of Excellence, USA. Additionally he is investigator of numerous clinical trials and organized numerous national and international symposiums related to uro-oncology, - in particular prostate and bladder cancer – as well other urologic subjects. In May 2017 he was granted the position of "DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA" because of his worldwide recognition and contribution to the development in the field of Urology.

Caleb Nelsonattended Dartmouth College and the Duke University School of Medicine. He did his urology training at the University of Michigan, and also completed a Clinical Research Training Program and received his MPH from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He then completed a 2-year fellowship in pediatric urology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Since 2006, he has been on the staff of Boston Children’s Hospital, with an academic appointment as an Associate Professor of Surgery (Urology) and Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. His research interests focus on clinical effectiveness research in pediatric urology, as well as quality of care and patient safety.

Jeremy Burton received his degrees from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Otago, New Zealand and holds the Chair in Human Microbiome and Probiotics based in the Lawson Health Research Institute. He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery and Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Western University in London, ON. His research interests primarily include: How the microbiome influences urological conditions and treatment? What modulates the microbiota? Biofilms and antibiotics relating to urology. His group is particularly interested in promoting basic and translational microbiology research in relation to the significant impact of urology on future urologic research and clinical practice. His personal objective is to stimulate, train and facilitate the next generation of urological microbiome investigators to lead studies in this rapidly emerging field.

Mark Moyad is the Jenkins/Pokempner Director of Complementary & Alternative Medicine Education at the University of Michigan Medical Center in the Dept of Urology. This endowed position was created and funded entirely by the individuals he has helped over the past 25+ years. Dr. Moyad's mission is to promote a greater attention to lifestyle changes and more objective education on dietary supplements and other OTC options for improved wellness. Mark received his medical education from the University of South Florida College of Public Health and the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is first and foremost a public health educator with an expertise in clinical or medical epidemiology. He is the primary author of over 150 published medical journal articles on lifestyle changes & supplements, the past editor-in-chief of the medical journal Seminars in Preventive & Alternative Medicine, author of 5 AUA updates, continues to provide peer review for multiple medical journals, and he has lectured around the world to the public and health care professionals in virtually every medical specialty and major medical center. Mark is the co-author or author of 14 books including Integrative Medicine Clinical/Teaching Guidebooks, the Promoting Wellness Series for patients and numerous other consumer health books and publications. He has been a consultant and/or interviewed for most major magazines, websites, radio, and television shows devoted to health in the U.S. and appears regularly on a variety of network news/programs. Dr Moyad also loves running, movies, artichokes, resistance exercise in moderation, his wife Mia and kids, his local college athletic teams but only when they are winning, and their dog “Grazie”, but of course not in that specific order.

Una Lee is the Head of the Section of Urology and Renal Transplantation at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of Washington. She is subspecialty board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), and serves as Associate Program Director of the FPMRS fellowship at Virginia Mason. Her undergraduate and medical school degrees are from Stanford University. She completed her urology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, and did her fellowship in Urogynecology/Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Lee’s clinical practice is focused on the evaluation and management of female pelvic floor disorders. She specializes in overactive bladder, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and vaginal reconstructive surgery, robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery, as well as complications from prior surgeries using mesh.
Dr. Lee serves as lead investigator in collaborative patient engagement work on amplifying women’s voices in stress urinary incontinence surgery research prioritization, funded by Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Her research is grounded in patient-centered perspectives and seeks to advance a deeper understanding of female pelvic floor problems. She served as Founder and Chair of the Society for Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine, and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) Research Network. In 2021 Dr. Lee received the Paul Zimskind Award from SUFU which is given annually to a member in the first ten years of their career, who has made significant contributions to the field through research, and has shown great potential for continuing scholarship.
She volunteers with the nonprofit organization Medicine for Humanity and travels to Mbarara, Uganda to partner with local gynecologists to provide care and medical education on issues of women’s health including the surgical repair of childbirth injury. She serves as the Women’s Health Chair of the Washington State Urology Society. She served as Guest Editor of a Special edition of Urology focused on Women’s Health. She hopes to raise awareness of urologic issues related to advancing Women’s Health, lead positive change within health care, and to continue to improve the quality of life of women through clinical care, teaching, advocacy, and research.

Richard Baverstock has been practicing urology in Calgary since 2004, having completed urology residency training at the University of British Columbia in 2003 and a fellowship in reconstructive surgery, andrology, incontinence and urodynamics in 2004 with Dr. Sender Herschorn at the University of Toronto. Dr. Baverstock’s primary areas of expertise are male urethral stricture disease and incontinence management. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Baverstock has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and is a sought-after speaker both locally and nationally. He is a leader in medical education, particularly in mentoring medical students, residents and fellows, and in educating family physicians and allied-health professionals. He is the program director of the University of Calgary Functional and Reconstructive Urology Fellowship.
In 2011, Dr. Baverstock co-created Vesia [Alberta Bladder Centre], after recognizing a need for improved multi-disciplinary care of patients with lower urinary tract issues. Their unique model has been recognized locally and nationally and continues to assess over 20,000 patients per year.
Outside of practice, Dr. Baverstock enjoys time with his family as well as golfing, hiking and cross-country skiing.

Stuart Oakecompleted his urological training at the University of Ottawa in 1993, preceded by one year of General Surgical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Oake is currently Head of the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery at The Ottawa Hospital. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Oake attained American Board of Urology certification as a Diplomate in 1998. His clinical focus includes uro-oncology and erectile dysfunction, along with the development of minimally invasive urological surgery at the Ottawa Hospital. Dr. Oake served as Program Director for the University of Ottawa Urology Residency Training Program from July 2004 to 2010 and from 2009 to 2017 took on the role of Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery. He is recognized nationally as the past Treasurer of the Canadian Urological Association (CUA), having served in this position from 2006 to 2011 and served as President of the CUA from 2014 to 2015. Dr. Oake successfully completed his Executive MBA from the Telfer School of Business, University of Ottawa in June of 2013. His Master's thesis for his MBA was based on the proposal for a Men's Health Centre at The Ottawa Hospital. This Centre officially opened in December 2021.

Mike Leveridgeis an Associate Professor in the Departments of Urology and Oncology at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario. He completed his medical degree at the University of Toronto, followed by Urology residency at Queen's University and SUO Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital and the University of Toronto. His clinical focus is urologic oncology in addition to a general urology practice. Research interests include the use and value of social media in urology as well as population-level research in bladder cancer and testicular cancer outcomes. He is the director of urology education at the undergraduate level and the residency program director for the urology training program. He is the editor-in-chief of the Canadian Urological Association Journal and former Vice President (Communications) of the Canadian Urological Association.

Gaynor Watson-Creedis the Assistant Dean of Serving and Engaging Society for Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Medicine, and Chair of the Board of Engage Nova Scotia. She is a public health specialist physician with 16 years experience, having served as the former Medical Officer of Health for the Halifax area and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health for Nova Scotia.
Dr. Watson-Creed is a PEI native and received chemistry degrees from UPEI and University of Guelph before attending Dalhousie University for her MD in 1995. From there, she attended McMaster University where she received board certifications in family medicine in 2001 and in Public Health and Preventive Medicine in 2005. She sits as chair or member of several population health councils and boards nationally, including the Examination Board for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Board of Community Food Centres of Canada. She is co-chair of the Advisory Council to the National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health and a member of the CIHI Advisory Council on Population Health. Dr. Watson-Creed sat on the One Nova Scotia Coalition, and received the William Grigor award for achievement in medicine from Doctors Nova Scotia in 2017. In 2018 she was awarded the President’s award from Public Health Physicians of Canada for her advocacy regarding public health systems and services in Canada. In 2019 she was named one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network in recognition of the direction and support she has provided to so many initiatives. Dr. Watson-Creed was named to the federal Task Force on Women in the Economy, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Minister Mona Fortier, in 2021. She received a Doctor of Science, honoris causa, from Acadia University in 2021.

Anne Suskindis an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she serves as the Associate Chair of Academic Affairs and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and as the Chief of Neurourology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). She graduated with a BA in Anthropology from Haverford College (2001) before attending medical school at Albany Medical College (2006). She then completed her urology residency at the University of Connecticut in 2011 and went on to complete two fellowships (in FPMRS and Health Services Research) and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis at the University of Michigan (2014). Dr. Suskind’s clinical interests lie in the treatment of complex lower urinary tract disorders including neurogenic bladder, overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence. Her research focuses on the impact of frailty in older adults undergoing urologic surgery, and she has received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the form of R01, R03, K12, and T32 grants. Her research at the intersection of urology and geriatrics has also been acknowledged by many prestigious foundation awards including the inaugural American Geriatrics Society (AGS) New Investigator Award (2016), the AGS Jeffrey H. Silverstein Memorial Award for Emerging Investigators in the Surgical and Related Medical Specialties that are Focused on the Care of Older Adults (2017), and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) Paul Zimkind Award (2020). She also serves as the Chair of the Ethics Committee for the International Continence Society (ICS), on the Executive Board for the Society of Women in Urology (SWIU), as an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Urology and on the Editorial Board for Urology Practice.

Wassim Kassouf
Dr Wassim Kassouf completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas following medical school and urology residency at McGill University. Dr. Kassouf’s clinical practice focuses on all aspects of urologic oncology whereas his clinical and translational research program focuses on refining organ preservation approaches in bladder cancer. He is a Professor in the Division of Urology and Vice-Chair, academic affairs, of the Department of Surgery at McGill University. He has served as program director for 6 years and was a member of the Royal College Examination board committee.
He has led several national guidelines for optimizing quality of care in urologic cancer management and has published over 360 peer-review manuscripts and book chapters. His research is supported by independent peer-reviewed grant funding from the US DoD, CRS, and CIHR. He is bladder cancer section editor for CUAJ and has served as associate editor for BMC Urology, and is/has been on the editorial board of Urology, Clinical Cancer Investigation Journal, and International Brazilian Journal of Urology. He is a cofounder of Bladder Cancer Canada, GU co-chair of the Canadian Clinical Trials Group, and an executive member of the NIH Genitourinary steering committee Bladder Cancer Task Force. Dr Kassouf is a graduate of the AUA Leadership Program and received several prestigious awards including the American Urological Association Young Urologist of the Year, AUA Research Scholar Award, Canadian Urological Association Scholarship Award, Quebec FRQS Distinguished Research Scholar Award, Bladder Cancer Canada Medical Leadership Award, and the Everett C. Reid Teaching Excellence Award.
